One of the best parts about the Autumn season upon us now? The flavors! Yes, there’s always pumpkin spice around every corner. And caramel and whipped cream with shaved chocolate concoctions. (Not that I don’t enjoy those too.) But I get the most into all the apples, the pears, corn, the nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamon. Which then will give way to cranberry, pomegranates, pecan, peppermint, hot cocoa, and gingerbread. It’s all so good, from the ciders to pies. And from the butternut squash to the yams. Eating seasonally (and locally when you can) gives your taste buds something to get excited about year after year. If you haven’t already (and we have!), enjoy your time at that area Pumpkin Patch/Corn Maze and load up on all your goodies, from the decorative gourds (hello future jack-o-lanterns) to the mulled spices.
