Isn’t that everyone’s wish? Except for those who genuinely enjoy cooking and baking. For me, it’s a dream come true to have someone make my healthy meals for me. It’s why we eat out more than we probably should. Making healthy, fresh food takes more effort than just microwaving a cheap, frozen meal that is most likely full of preservatives and artificial flavors, etc. We try to make that effort as much as possible of course, but because of convenience, we don’t always make the best choices, like most people.
So this week we are trying something new, which is the “7 Day Detox Plan” made at a local cafe called Bodhi Tree. You do a pick-up 3 times during the week of your fresh made, prepared for you food. You get 3 meals plus 2 juices plus 1 soup per day, all balanced, 100% plant-based, gluten-free with no refined sugars. We eat out there on occasion and love their food. And because this plan helps you kick some of the most common cravings, like sugar, with nutrient dense, filling food instead, it also acts as a mental as well as physical “detox”. The pure veggie and fruit juices give your digestive system a much needed break while also supporting your cleansing organs.
We started today with options like quinoa and fruit, a cabbage and mint salad, and stir fry of mushrooms and bok choy. And it was all less than 1,500 calories for the day. I can’t wait for what the rest of the week will bring!
